Burner, The Disposable Phone Number App, Gets Nomorobo Integration To Block Spam Calls

Burner's latest update adds support from Nomorobo, the spam call blocking service that keeps telemarketers from ruining your dinner.

Within the Burner app, Nomorobo will pre-scan all of the calls that come through to your burner number and automatically filter out any robocalls or telemarketers. It cross references incoming numbers with a massive database of known spam callers that has been compiled with help from the FTC, user reports, and their own spam call honeypots. Burner is the first virtual phone number app to use Nomorobo's technology.

To use the service, you need to have the latest version of Burner on your phone (3.5.1 on iOS and 3.5.4 on Android,) and you have to be a Burner Premium subscriber. Nomorobo turns on automatically once you update your app, so there's nothing else you need to do. All suspected spam calls will get sent to your filtered calls list where you can review them and move them to your normal inbox if need be. 2017 People’s Choice Awards Red Carpet Photos — Fifth Harmony & More

The big day is here! Tons of our favorite stars are gathering at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles for the People’s Choice Awards, and we have all the pics of their arrivals. Check out Jennifer Lopez, Fifth Harmony and many more on the carpet right here!

The talent began flooding into the People’s Choice Awards just about two hours before the show, and .it is definitely a star-studded show! The awards show honors stars in all categories, including music, movies, television, the Internet and MORE, so there was a wide range of celebrities in attendance at the fan-voted event on Jan. 18.

This year, Fifth Harmony and Blake Shelton, 40, are set to perform. It’ll be the girl group’s first performance without Camila Cabello, who left the group at the end of 2016, so the world will definitely be watching as they take the stage as a foursome. Meanwhile, Blake is expected to bring his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, 47, and we always love seeing them all dressed up and out together!

One of the first stars to hit the carpet this year was the always gorgeous Peyton List, who looked adorable in a pale pink dress with sheer, floral overlay. She was followed by American Housewife star, Meg Donnelly, who’s having a breakout year thanks to her role on the new hit show.

We’ll be updating our gallery as the red carpet arrivals continue to flood in, so keep checking back — Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Sarah Jessica Parker and plenty more are slated to attend, so there’s a lot to look forward to. The show, hosted by Joel McHale, begins at 9:00 p.m. on CBS.

Here’s how Hrithik Roshan ditched his charm and became the guy-next-door for ‘Kaabil’

He is one of the most good looking men not in India, not even in Asia, but in the goddamn whole world! Hrithik Roshan never had to go any extra miles to impress us with his appearance, because captivating charm and sex appeal are something that he inherently carries.

However, for ‘Kaabil’, he rather needed to look the familiar guy-next-door kind. Hrithik, who plays the character of a visually impaired man, showed no inhibitions in shedding off his usual charisma for getting into the skin of Rohan Bhatnagar.

And god, how he impressed us with his emotional, so-much-in-love avatar! To do the needful, he had to make changes to his diet and put on extra kilos. His stylist in the film also made sure that he looked familiarly simple with the essence of an ordinary life.

“The transformation is not dramatic but extremely significant. Here is an actor subtly but totally surrendering to the part that he is supposed to play. He is supposed to be a regular guy who happens to be visually impaired. More importantly he is completely captivated by the inner beauty of his love interest played by Yami Gautam,” says director Sanjay Gupta.

“What is impressive is the way Hrithik transforms and becomes a guy next door. There is nothing of the physical attractiveness that he is known for”, he adds.

The film also stars Yami Gautam as Hrithik’s love interest and will hit the screens on January 25.

A Photographic Tour through the Galapagos Islands

Travel bucket lists are a very personal thing, but when it comes to travel destinations, there seems to be a few reoccurring favorites that show up on most travelers’ wish lists, such as the Galapagos Islands. About 1,000 kilometers off the coast of Ecuador, this off-the-beaten-path area is known for its amazing wildlife and untouched landscape. Today, guest contributor and travel photographer, Dennis Calhoun, is here to tell us about his recent adventure to this unique destination.

Do you enjoy a challenge? Are you interested in seeing an amazing variety of wildlife? If so, the Galapagos Islands off the coast of Ecuador may be just right for your next exciting travel adventure. Only a few of the fourteen most significant islands in the volcanic archipelago have any inhabitation.

Of course, most people come to this part of the world for the amazing wildlife found on the islands.

Most people who visit these isolated islands start by joining a tour. Most of the tours are via air travel to Quito, Ecuador and then a short flight to a small airfield in Baltra in the Galapagos Islands. The airfield is there because this was once a US Military base during WWII.

Birdwatchers will love the amazing array of pelicans, hawks, and booby birds.

The blue-footed boobies prefer rocky shorelines, so it can be tricky getting a good shot from the bouncy panga.

The boobies are quite popular for bird enthusiasts.

This pink flamingo was hanging out in a lagoon as we passed by.

After your arrival at Baltra, you will be taken to your ship in a small rubber boat, called a panga. Most days you will enjoy two excursions to the islands for photography, swimming, snorkeling or walking. Sometimes kayaking opportunities are available. On one of the islands, iron oxide leaching into the lava sand on the beach gives the sand a distinctive red color.

The rocky shorelines are one reason that the islands have managed to stay in such pristine state.

The island is also known for its magnificient giant tortoises. Thanks to efforts by Ecuador to breed them and release them, they are starting to come back in large numbers.

Thankfully, new laws are in place to protect these beautiful animals.

Many of the landings are wet landings, meaning that you must walk from the small panga to the land in shallow ocean water. This may sound simple, but it can be challenging when the surf is rough and you are trying to protect camera equipment. Sometimes the footing is a bit rough, but the opportunity to see the wildlife up close is worth it.

Although it’s rare to see them, one species of penguins can be found in the Galapagos.

Although planning a visit to the Galapagos Islands can be a bit daunting, it’s an amazing destination. Plan accordingly and you’ll have an unforgettable experience.

Savannah Chrisley Gushes Over ‘Amazing’ Mystery Man Who Saved Her Life After Crash

Can someone pass the tissue box, please? In her first public post since the car crash, Savannah Chrisley thanks the ‘amazing’ mystery man who saved her life on Jan. 16. While the reality star may never be able to ‘repay’ her hero, she did post this emotional tribute!

Some of us have guardian angels, others have guardian mystery men. An unsung hero who currently remains nameless and faceless jumped to Savannah Chrisley‘s, 19, aid on Jan. 16 after witnessing a horrific car crash. The accident might have taken Savannah’s life it weren’t for the help of this kind stranger. To show her appreciation, Savannah took to Instagram to thank the “amazing man that stopped and helped me as everyone else was passing.” She didn’t manage to catch his name, but she’s forever thankful. “I have no idea who you are but thank you…I could never repay you for your act of kindness.”

As we previously told you, the Chrisley Knows Best star suffered the fright of her life while driving through a rainstorm. Her floor mat got wedged underneath the gas pedal, and when she bent down to fix it, her white, four-door car slammed into a guardrail. Regardless of how fast she was driving, the guardrail collision took out a HUGE chunk of her car, breaking off the headlight and tire area. In that moment, Savannah must have seen her life flash before her eyes!

Thankfully, the reality star is recovering quite well. Her father, Todd, revealed that she’s suffering from several injuries, including a fractured vertebrae and multiple bruises, but NONE of them are permanent! With a lot of rest, Savannah will be back to her normal self in no time — six weeks to be exact. “We have a six-week recovery period and we are all so thankful to the good Lord above for His grace and mercy,” explained Todd to E!. We’re wishing her a healthy and speedy recovery!

Shah Rukh Khan to play magician in Salman Khan’s ‘Tubelight’?

Yesterday, pictures of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan from the sets of ‘Tubelight’ broke the internet. We earlier heard SRK would be playing a cameo in the Kabir Khan-directorial, and he did not disappoint us after all!

And now, the latest reports suggest that his character is that of a magician. Sounds quite interesting, right?

Adding to our assumptions, SRK has got a cryptic tattoo done on his face. This further fuels rumours that his character will be something intense!

Apparently, the Indo-Chinese war film is inspired by Hollywood flick ‘Little Boy’. In the film, Pepper, a little lad, goes out to look for his dad who goes missing from a war. There, he is told that he can change the course of the war with extreme will power. That is where magic creeps in!

This also marks the Bollywood debut of Chinese actress Zhu Zhu. Also, after years, the Karan-Arjun will share screen space once again, putting an end to their tiff.

Can’t wait already!

Lightroom Rapid Editing PLUS for People

After I completed the development of Lightroom Rapid Editing PLUS for Landscapes and Cityscapes it was time to take care the People Collection

The Lightroom Rapid Editing PLUS concept addresses the shortcoming in Lightroom functionality. Due to the nature of RAW processing, Lightroom does not have one of the most useful functionalities of any editing program, the ability to change Opacity.

In one of my earlier posts, I shared with you my idea how to overcome Lightroom deficiency and hack Opacity functionality.

The concept is simple, for each preset in the People Collection, I created 6 additional versions by generating different opacity versions in 10% increments. I started with 40% because the versions where the opacity range was between 10% and 30% were too subtle to see any effects and produced totally useless results.

The Lightroom Rapid Editing PLUS for People Collection will be a very valuable addition when editing portraits.

Let me explain.

When you edit cityscapes, you can be as aggressive as you want whether that involves changing colors and tones, enhancing the contrast or experimenting with unusual color combinations. The reason for this is because there is no reference point for the person, the viewer, looking at your picture. In most cases, the viewer does not know what the color of the building actually is, which allows you to freely manipulate it.

When you edit landscapes, there are a few more restrictions because the viewer has many reference points. The viewer knows that grass and tree leaves are green so, if you change these to blue, it does not usually work well. However, there is some degree of latitude for creative editing. If you change the color of the grass from green to orange, it might actually work if it looks like fall colors.

When editing portraits, the process becomes even more restrictive. The main reason for that is because of the skin color of your subjects, which becomes the most important reference point for your viewers. The degree at which you can manipulate portraits is much smaller compared to cityscapes and landscapes.

The ability to dial down effect of any preset from People collection will give us unprecedented flexibility when editing portraits.

Let me show you what I mean.

Lightroom Rapid Editing PLUS Workflow for People Photograpy

For the demonstration of the proposed workflow, I purposely selected the photo I took in a broad daylight during my coastal drive in California (Big Sur).

This is a typical outdoor portrait where natural surroundings are much brighter than the person in the foreground.

The goal of the editing to brighten up the face of the model by recovering the shadows and to balance the brightness between foreground and the background.

Step 1: Exposure Adjustment

Select the image and evaluate the exposure value. If it needs any adjustment, use the TOOLKIT or the Lightroom Exposure slider in the Basic Panel to set the exposure value to achieve the desired result.

Step 2: Style Preset

Open the preset folder PhotoTraces Vol.2 - People PLUS  and start applying the presets to the selected photo. The goal here is to find an interesting look, something you can improve upon later.

I suggest starting with the 100% versions because that is how it was intended to work when the effect was first created.

In my case, I liked the look Happy Morning preset produced but​ the effect was too strong.

Step 3: Setting Up Interface

Open the Navigator window above the Presets panel if it is not already open.

Drag the Lightroom left panel boundary all the way to the right, making it as wide as possible. The goal is to have the biggest possible preview in the Navigator panel.

Step 4: Playing With the Opacity

Move the mouse over the Happy Morning preset versions with the various opacity values without clicking on them. By doing this, you can see a real-time preview of the effects in the Navigator window, which will help you identify the editing effect you like the most.

Step 5: Standard Rapid Editing

When you see the version you like the best, click on it to apply the effect on the main image.

In this particular case I selected Happy Morning 60% version.​

From that point, you can use a combination of TOOLKIT adjustments to fine tune the photo using the standard Lightroom Rapid Editing approach

I applied the following TOOLKIT adjustments:  7. Open Shadow +, 32 Vignetting ++

And here is the Lightroom Rapid Editing Formula: Happy Morning 60% (7, 32)

I created three more versions of the same capture using Rapid Editing PLUS Workflow I outlined earlier.

Under each final photo you can find the Lightroom Rapid Editing formula.
