In the latest weightlifting competition, China’s Long Qingquan lifted 170kg in the jerk for a world record total of 307kg to take the men's 56kg weightlifting gold medal at the Rio Olympics on Sunday.
China’s total number of medals now amounts to 8, with 3 gold.
Zhang Mengxue claimed the women's 10 meter air pistol title earlier.
The Olympic debutant set a new event record of 199.4 points, after the sport's world governing body introduced new rules.
Zhang narrowly qualified for the final from 7th place and had not expected a gold medal.
"No, I didn't feel the pressure. This is my first Olympics so I was relaxed. I take it as a chance to gain experience for myself."
Behind Zhang for silver and bronze are Russia and Greek shooters.
China's delight doubled in the day as another gold medal came in the women's synchronized 3 meter springboard.
Wu Minxia successfully defended her London title with new partner Shi Tingmao. They won with an unassailable 32 point margin ahead of an Italian pair.
With that, Wu becomes the most decorated diver in history with five gold medals from four Olympic Games.
Wu said she was proud of herself but also says they did well together as a pair.
"I think I achieved something great. I never thought I could last this long in diving. It has not been easy but my dreams movitated me. Today both of us had the same faith so we were in spectacular forms. We are proud."
Wu's Olympic career comes to an end in a climactic finish.
Shi Tingmao has still to compete in the women's single 3 meter springboard later.
