Stolen semi truck currently racing through the desert

Screen+Shot+2016-09-13+at+4.02.30+PMA man stole a semi truck Tuesday morning and is currently racing through the California desert while driving fairly politely. The chase began in Apple Valley, California, San Bernardino County officials told ABC 7.The driver failed to yield, leading to the chase. ABC 7 reported that the driver told police he has no weapons, but does not want to return to jail.

He's currently racing through a barren part of southern California through Yucca Valley. The truck belongs to ACT Enviro, a company that handles hazardous waste. ACT Enviro did not say what the truck is hauling. Possible hazards inside could be chemical, biological or radioactive, according to Fox 10. People around the world are watching streaming footage of the chase.

The truck is estimated to have between 12 and 14 hours of drive time. People are now lining the streets to watch as the chase. The unnamed driver seems to be heading toward Arizona. We'll update this post as the chase unfolds.
