Burner, The Disposable Phone Number App, Gets Nomorobo Integration To Block Spam Calls

Burner's latest update adds support from Nomorobo, the spam call blocking service that keeps telemarketers from ruining your dinner.

Within the Burner app, Nomorobo will pre-scan all of the calls that come through to your burner number and automatically filter out any robocalls or telemarketers. It cross references incoming numbers with a massive database of known spam callers that has been compiled with help from the FTC, user reports, and their own spam call honeypots. Burner is the first virtual phone number app to use Nomorobo's technology.

To use the service, you need to have the latest version of Burner on your phone (3.5.1 on iOS and 3.5.4 on Android,) and you have to be a Burner Premium subscriber. Nomorobo turns on automatically once you update your app, so there's nothing else you need to do. All suspected spam calls will get sent to your filtered calls list where you can review them and move them to your normal inbox if need be.
