Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 today at an event in Peking University Gymnasium in China. The smartphone comes right after the launch of Xiaomi Mi 5 and Xiaomi Mi 5S. Mi Note 2 sports a 5.7-inch flexible OLED display. The display has a 77.2 percent ration with 110 percent NTSC colour gamut range along with a reading mode and improved sunlight readability. The OLED display is covered by a flexible 3D curved glass. It is one of the few devices to use 3D curved glass display on the back as well as the front.
Mi Note 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 while running on 6GB RAM. The smartphone is equipped with 128GB internal storage and 4070mAh battery along with Quick Charge 3.0. The device will have full NFC functionality along with read, write, emulation and P2P bank card payments. Note 2 will come with AQSTIC audio processor which provides high dynamic, low distortion and low power consumption along with GPS. The smartphone supports six types of LTE networks totalling to 37 bands across the world regarding connectivity options along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB Type-C.
Xiaomi has added a new 22.56 MP IMX318 camera module with f/2.0 aperture on the back along with Phase Detection and Contrast Detection autofocus system. The module used is the same as the one used in Sony Xperia X and Xperia XZ. It comes with Dual-tone LED Flash and is capable of recording 4K video and (Electronic Image Stabilization) EIS support. The camera can capture 32-second long exposure shots and is equipped with a dedicated 3-axis gyroscope. The company has added an 8MP IMX268 camera module with f/2.0 aperture and Auto Focus on the front along with Beautify 3.0
The smartphone will come in three variants with the 4GB RAM along with 64GB internal storage coming for 2799 RMB which translates to Rs 27,626 at the time of writing. The 6GB RAM along with 128GB internal storage will be priced at 3299 RMB which roughly translated to Rs 32561 and the 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage Global LTE support variant for 3499 RMB amounting to Rs 34,535 at the time of writing. The smartphone will come in two colours Piano Black, Glacier Sliver.
