Pokémon Go: If your life revolves around pokemons, this DIY accessory is for you

Pokémon Go fans may learn every trick of the trade to catch ’em all, but there are issues that cannot be tackled via guides and online hacks. Yes, we are talking about battery woes. DIY product posted by a SparkFunuser named npoole has managed to build a case that brings additional battery power.

Using a 3D printer,  he has built a case with an additional battery. The 3D printed pokédex has added an extra 2600mAh to his Samsung Galaxy S4. It uses ABS plastic and looks like Kanto-era Pokedex. Inside, it holds the battery, USB plug and LEDs. Those who want to build their own can download files from GitHub.

“The original Kanto Pokédex had three LEDs: red, yellow and green. A few resistors prevent the LEDs from overcurrent. Finally, I added a power switch to the battery input. There is an “enable” pin on the Power Cell board but even with the board disabled, it can slowly drain your battery,” he explains.

Those with a 3D printer can tweak the files accordingly for the device they own. However, ones who don’t own or have access to a 3D printer, Poole is testing it out for different phone models and you may probably be able to buy some ready-made pokédexes, points out TheVerge.

You can carry an additional pack or simply build this case until some official accessory from Niantic or Nintendo is out.
